GGG Products Generative AI Guidelines

These Guidelines supplement the prohibition on the use of Generative AI for training purposes set forth in Article 7 (Prohibited Activities) of the GGG Products Terms and Conditions.
For details regarding other provisions of the Terms of Use, please refer to the Terms applicable to each product.
Please also review the terms, policies, and training practices of any Generative AI services you use.

Introduction

Gotcha Gotcha Games Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) allows users to utilize Generative AI (“AI”) when creating games with GGG products at their own responsibility.
AI may help make game development more efficient by assisting with event creation, plugin development, debugging, and other tasks.
However, certain data and content may not be used for AI training purposes.
These Guidelines are intended to clearly explain what is allowed and what is not.

Please note that the use of AI is entirely at your own responsibility, and it is your responsibility to review and comply with the terms, policies, and training practices of any AI services you use.

What You Can Do (Allowed)

Using AI to Create Games

The following uses are generally permitted:

  1. Creating events with AI
  2. Creating plugins or scripts with AI
  3. Having AI analyze or edit project data (such as JSON files)
  4. Using AI to assist with debugging or game balancing

Key Point

Using AI as a tool to help create your game is generally allowed.

Using AI with Your Own Works

  1. Training AI using game data that you created yourself
  2. Using AI to modify or generate content based on assets you created yourself

Key Point

If you own the rights to the content, you may use it with AI at your own responsibility.

Uses Requiring Caution (Conditional)

  1. Providing official sample projects or official plugins to AI systems
  2. Using AI to analyze the internal mechanisms or structure of GGG Products

Key Points

  1. Acceptable when used solely as a development aid
  2. Not acceptable when used as training data, accumulated into datasets, or redistributed

Prohibited Uses

The following uses of Generative AI are prohibited:

Using GGG Products Content for AI Training

  1. Training AI using the Maker engine programs
  2. Training AI using core scripts
  3. Training AI using official assets (including images, music, fonts, and similar content)

Activities That Lead to Asset Regeneration or Redistribution

  1. Training AI on official assets to generate similar images, music, or other content
  2. Publishing datasets that include assets of GGG Products

Using GGG Products Content for AI Training

  1. Training AI for the purpose of creating programs that reproduce the mechanisms or structure of GGG Products

The Difference Between “Using AI” and “Training AI”

This distinction is important:

Category Description Allowed?
AI Use Providing input to an AI system and receiving output, assistance, or generated content Yes
AI Training Using data to teach, train, or improve an AI system’s knowledge or capabilities No (subject to restrictions)

How to Decide When You’re Unsure

A simple rule of thumb:

Generally Allowed

  1. You are using AI to help create your own game

Generally Not Allowed

  1. You are accumulating data in order to train or improve an AI system
  2. You are attempting to reuse, redistribute, or recreate assets

A Message from Gotcha Gotcha Games

We do not oppose the use of AI in game development.
At the same time, the assets and programs included in GGG Products are valuable intellectual property.

For that reason, our policy is:

  1. Using AI to assist with game development: Allowed
  2. Using assets or programs of GGG Products to train AI systems: Restricted

We believe this approach allows developers to benefit from AI while protecting the assets and technology that make the GGG Products possible.
